Pie Eating Contest

Participate in a good old fashioned pie eating contest during your visit to this year’s California State Fair. California’s own Save Mart Supermarkets will provide delicious cream pies for contestants to devour.

The contest is open to all Fairgoers who think they have what it takes to gobble down their slice of pie the fastest. The winner will be the first contestant in each division to eat their entire portion of pie. With multiple divisions for adults and children, there’s a chance for everyone to compete.

But be warned, this isn’t for the faint of heart – contestants will have their faces covered in cream and crumbs by the end of the contest! So grab a napkin, dig in, and show off your pie-eating skills at the Save Mart Pie Eating Contest. No pie shall be left behind!

Date: Tuesday, July 23 2024

Time: 2:00 PM

Location: I Can Go To College Promenade Stage

Registration – Walk-up registration on Tuesday, July 23rd (day of contest) at the Promenade Stage. Begins promptly at 12:30 PM and ends at 1:45 PM

DIVISIONS

Each Division is limited to 10 contestants each

  • KIDS Ages 5 – 11 years old: one (1) slice of pie (1/4 of whole pie)
  • TEENS Ages 12 – 17 years old: one (1) half of pie (1/2 of whole pie)
  • ADULTS Ages 18+ years old: one (1) whole pie (entire pie)

Kids Division: 5-11 Years Old – ¼ of a Banana Cream Pie

  • 1st Place: Anna Rayo (8) – 1 Minute and 44 Seconds
  • 2nd Place: Leo Macias (9) – 1 Minute and 46 Seconds
  • 3rd Place: Ashton Gonzales-Moore (10) – 2 Minutes and 20 Seconds

Teens Division: 12-17 Years Old – ½ of a Banana Cream Pie

  • 1st Place: Rey Castillo (14) – 1 Minute and 20 Seconds
  • 2nd Place: Deisy Laguna (17) – 1 Minute and 38 Seconds
  • 3rd Place: Luca Bahano (14) – 2 Minutes and 38 Seconds

Adults Division: 18+ Years Old – One Whole Banana Cream Pie

  • 1st Place: Rudy Aguilar – 1 Minute and 44 Seconds
  • 2nd Place: Nick Bryant – 2 Minute and 5 Seconds
  • 3rd Place: Eric Lor – 3 Minutes and 14 Seconds
