Katie Kempen is from San Antonio, Texas where her family primarily raise Brahman and Brahman crossed cattle that she exhibited over the state and nation. She grew up very active in 4H and FFA where she was able to speak on national stages over agricultural topics. Katie was a part of the Connors State College “Team of the Year” and the Texas A&M University livestock judging team that was named 2022 Reserve National Champions. She was recognized as both a junior and senior college All American and was a part of the high team at 23 contest in her career. Some of her personal accolades include winning the first ever Cattlemen’s Congress, and being named a top 10 individual 19 times.

 

Katie finished her undergraduate degree in Animal Science in May, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Animal Science with a focus in Ruminant Nutrition, while being the Assistant Livestock Judging Coach at Texas A&M. Her plans are to one day work on improving beef cattle sustainability for large scale corporate companies.
