“The Animation Academy!” provides high-tech interactives used in the process of creating animated cartoons, movies, and story boards for the California State Fair. This element encourages interest in animation, storytelling, stop-motion and Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) techniques.

People of all ages will have a chance to see behind the scenes with some top-name animation studios, where imagination becomes a reality. The venue manages their own transportation and installation. It will allow participants to organize story boards, sketch, color, and explore the fascinating careers in animation, using the latest gadgets. Set design, prop making and doodling make this exhibit an exciting addition to the 2024 California State Fair.

Visitors can create their own stop-motion animated short, learn about the art of storyboarding, go behind the scenes with artists and animators, and enjoy America’s largest 3D zoetrope.

Each display and interactive activity features the participation of industry leaders, from original hand-drawn cels to real stop-motion maquettes. Visitors will not only have the opportunity to learn and explore, but will also leave with new memories to last a lifetime.
