Photography has been an important vehicle for me to witness and record social and political events in American culture by documenting social groups in their everyday community and those who have taken political stands against social injustice and advocate for social change. I hold a Ph.D. in Social Science and my training as a sociologist has informed my vision as a photographer. My photographs have been exhibited at the DeYoung, Everson and Fogg Museums, local and national art galleries, held in private collections, and published in several books and national magazines.
