Marlie de Swart is a fiber artist. Marlie was educated in Holland and France before coming to the US where she received a BFA from Occidental College and went to Art Center College of Design. She has had many exhibitions in California. Most recently at the Healdsburg Center for the arts, the Mary Eubank Gallery in Point Reyes Station and a group show at the Petaluma Art Center and in 2023 she was juried into the International Fiber Arts Show in Sebastepol. She owned Black Mountain Artisans/Weavers, a fiber arts cooperative retail space, in Point Reyes Station for over 25 years, has written a pattern book for hand knitters and was featured in INSP’s TV Series, Handcrafted America. Marlie is a lifelong spinner and knitter.
