Safety & Security

The mission of the California Exposition & State Fair Police is to provide for the safety and security of visitors, employees, and stakeholders; keep order and preserve the peace; and support the economic well-being of the California Exposition & State Fair.

Cal Expo is the only fairgrounds in the nation with a full-time, year-round police department. The Cal Expo Police Department acts under the same authority as all other police departments in the State of California and its sworn personnel have statewide peace officer powers as specified in section 830.2(i) of the California Penal Code.
